Very very very sad

I was a huge fan of Gary Moore and am very sad to learn of his premature death at the silly age of 58. In tribute, here's one of his less well-known incarnations as guitarist with the fiercely inventive 70's prog combo Colosseum 2. Some of his best guitar playing ever.

RIP Gary.

My friend John is a former professional guitarist, Gary Moore was one of his heroes. A gifted, talented and sensitive musician, which is more than can be said for the average rock guitarist.

Just found your site googling Gary Moore. I'm devestated. I've been a fan of his ever since I was 14 growing up in Turkey. A late friend of mine (pitone) introduced me to him on ICQ. I join you in your grief and will be saying a Turkish prayer later.

Great blog by the way, how's the diet going?

Condolences to fellow Moore fans,
A heart broken Atik

My credibility as a prog fan has just taken a bit of a beating, as I had never heard of this band, though I will now be looking them out.. thankyou for sharing.

Gnomentum - they were somewhat obscure. The original Colosseum spawned the band Greenslade. Then, later, a Colosseum 2 was formed by original drummer Jon Hiseman and brought in Gary Moore and Don Airey on keyboards - later of Rainbow and Whitesnake fame. C2 did three studio albums. Worth getting hold of just for Moore's playing. x
