Gettin' piggy with it
I've just got back from a 40th birthday party with a difference. Rather than hire the local British Legion or village hall, the organisers of this particular party (Lizzie chief among them) set it on an ex-farm in the heart of the Brecon Beacons near Llandovery in mid-Wales.
A short, uncomfortable night ended with even more pig-related foodery as our hosts knocked up a mega-barbecue breakfast of sausage, egg, and brie and bacon rolls washed down with gallons of tea, coffee, fresh orange juice and ibuprofen. For the brave of heart there were some cold pork rolls from the night before kicking around in the big barn. Shudder.
Happy birthday Simon!

The hillside in this last picture is breathtaking! So different from the flat corn and soy bean fields of the midwest. Sigh.
Looks like it was a fantastic party.
What a fab venue and I miss those rolling hills - it's flat flat out here mate!
Sounds like a fine time was had by all, very envious of the sausages and bacon too!
Willow and Sal - The scenery is pretty breathtaking in that part of the world and some of the views on the drive there and back were sunning. I guess that's why they made it a national park. The hills aren't so much fun to drive though!
Oh wonderful to see the beautiful Welsh hills again. We spent 3 years in Burry Port (made famous by Amelia Earhart), and often went for drives into the hills. A favourite stop was the ice-cream shop in Brecon....happy days.
